Ahhh facebook. The thing that everyone’s on, yet nobody really has time for. The thing that sucks way too much time from our lives. The thing where everyone feels the need to share what they just ate, how long their last nap was and what their kids are doing at that very exact moment. The place where we post pictures, tag friends, accept people’s friendships who we hate, love, are indifferent about or don’t even know. The place where we share trips and purchases. The place we promote Mary Kay, Scentsy Candles, craft parties, photography businesses, bands we love, books we read, diet tips and “why I am a vegan”.
Open groups.
Closed groups.
Secret groups.
Who just poked me?
What the freaking heck is Spotify?
Why isn’t there a dislike button? There should really be a love button!
Relationship status’, profile pictures, and status updates.
Comments, likes, and fans.
Video chat (which rocks by the way), chat lists, secret chats, personal chats, more email to check.
Notifications that have given me OCD. I can’t focus if I have unseen notifications at the top of my screen.
Its exhausting.
It’s ridiculous.
Its flippin awesome.
Why do I love facebook? It has given me the opportunity to meet new people. Make friendships that never would have been possible without it. It has given family members the opportunity to see my growing family from their living rooms. It has given me the opportunity to share my passion and the story of our lives through imagery. It has opened my eyes to different opinions, political views. It has given me the opportunity to see how people in different countries live. It has opened my eyes to new music, and awesome movies.
I heart it.
On my biz page (if you are on facebook and are not over there….say whaaa? head on over now!) I always post pictures that don’t always make it into blog posts….which is a shame because they usually are my favorite images from my rolls of film. So I thought, each month, I would make a post of my facebook favorites.
